Information
The Hestholm Sweater is a colourful, classic colourwork sweater featuring a detailed pattern in six colours. Shades of blue, yellow, grey and natural white stand out beautifully against the dark background, creating a design that feels both traditional and contemporary.
Warm and versatile, the Hestholm Sweater is made for everyday wear as well as outdoor adventures and leisure time. Wear it on chilly days, at the cabin, by the sea or as a cosy sweater throughout autumn and winter. The timeless colourwork makes it a sweater you can enjoy year after year, and the design is suitable for both women and men.
The sweater is knitted from the bottom up. The body and sleeves are worked separately before being joined on the same circular needle. The colourwork continues across the yoke while decreasing for the raglan shaping. The neckline is finished with a high ribbed edge that is folded to the inside and sewn in place.
The Hestholm Sweater features detailed stranded colourwork and is best suited to knitters with some experience of colourwork. You should be comfortable following charts and working with several colours at the same time. Some rounds are worked using up to four colours.
The Hestholm Sweater is designed in Viking Wool, a yarn made from 100% Highland merino wool. The pure wool creates a warm sweater and is particularly well suited to the detailed stranded colourwork.
The pattern comes in seven sizes from XS to 3XL and is available i Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, English and German.

Knitting the Hestholm sweater
The Hestholm sweater is knitted in the round, which means that instead of knitting back and forth in rows, you’ll be working in continuous circles to create a seamless garment. Knitting in the round is an efficient technique that eliminates the need for side seams, giving the jumper a smooth, even finish.
